"The sad news has been received by Mr and Mrs George Campbell, of Chapel Lane, Winterton, that their youngest son, Private Albert Campbell, East Yorks. Regiment, had died on September 30th of wounds (gunshot wounds in neck and shoulder) received on September 28th in France. Private Campbell had been serving his country two years and three months. A year last July he received a bullet wound in his foot and was invalided home, going back again in January of this year. Mr and Mrs Campbell have two other sons in France – Private Herbert Campbell, R.A.M.C. who before joining up was in the police force at Rotherham, and Sapper Ernest Campbell R.E., who was previously employed on the railways at Immingham Docks."
