"Mr and Mrs Hicks, 36 Earlsgate, Winterton, have received news that their youngest son, Private Harold Hicks, Manchester Regiment, died in a stationary hospital in France on August 29th from gunshot wounds in the back. He was 21 years of age, and joined the Army in February 1917. Before joining he was in the employ of Mr Cartwright, the depot, Walesby, Market Rasen. Mr and Mrs Hicks have two other sons serving in France."
