"WINTERTON - CONGRATULATIONS.- Pte. Hy. Hicks, South Staffs. Regt., who was reported last week as having been awarded the Military Medal, has been congratulated by Major-General C. E. Pereirn, C.B.C.M.S. on his gallantry as a stretcher bearer when he helped the Adjutant, who had been wounded, back for about 700 yards under intense fire."
